Meymeh Teppiche

Rustic Charm with Architectural Precision

Die Geschichte

Meymeh rugs are charming village pieces from a highland town between Isfahan and Kashan, gained their reputation as a weaving centre under the Safavid Shahs. Nestled in the Karkass mountains — a cold, snowy valley surrounded by marble and iron hills — the local climate and landscape are directly reflected in the rugs' bold, layered structure.

Designs typically feature nested diamond medallions: a main diamond embedded within another, and another, creating a patterned depth similar to Qashqai tribal rugs. Woven on cotton warp and wefts with luscious soft wool, they're very similar in design to Joshaghan but with higher quality execution.

Think warm character, confident geometry, and excellent everyday livability — rugs that work hard while still looking intentional and designed.
