About This Lori-Kashkouli
Kashkouli rugs are produced by the Kashkouli sub-tribe of the Qashqai confederacy in Fars Province, southern Iran. Woven with the symmetrical (Turkish) knot on horizontal ground looms, they represent the finest tier of Qashqai weaving — achieving knot densities that are exceptionally high for nomadic production.
Only the finest mountain sheep wool is selected, often enhanced with plant-based natural dyes in warm reds and golden tones. The designs combine tribal spirit with a more intricate, sometimes curvilinear drawing that feels elevated beyond typical nomadic work — small-ornamental compositions with diamond and hexagonal medallions.
Measuring 157 × 104 cm, with an area of 1.63 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship. The knot density of 201 000 - 250 000 / m² speaks to the extraordinary care woven into every inch.
Preserved in perfect condition, the finest expression of qashqai weaving — where nomadic authenticity meets collector-grade refinement.
