About This Kashkouli
Kashkouli rugs are produced by the Kashkouli sub-tribe of the Qashqai confederacy in Fars Province, southern Iran. Woven with the symmetrical (Turkish) knot on horizontal ground looms, they represent the finest tier of Qashqai weaving, achieving knot densities that are exceptionally high for nomadic production.
Only the finest mountain sheep wool is selected, often enhanced with plant-based natural dyes in warm reds and golden tones. The designs combine tribal spirit with a more intricate, sometimes curvilinear drawing that feels elevated beyond typical nomadic work, small-ornamental compositions with diamond and hexagonal medallions.
Measuring 205 × 83 cm, with an area of 1.70 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship. The knot density of 128 000 - 160 000 / m² speaks to the extraordinary care woven into every inch.
Preserved in perfect condition, the finest expression of qashqai weaving, where nomadic authenticity meets collector-grade refinement.
