Abadeh Rugs

Abadeh rugs are beloved hand-knotted Persian carpets from Abadeh in Fars Province, shaped by the wider Qashqai tribal tradition. The most distinctive feature is the bold hexagonal centre medallion, a design unique to Abadeh that gives each rug its confident graphic identity. Sheep’s wool pile on cotton warp and weft provides a firm, dense, compact construction built for daily use.

The designs feel cheerful and direct: classic Persian motifs including Herati, Vase, and Zal-al-Sultan layouts rendered with confident color contrasts and a handmade spontaneity that keeps them from feeling overly formal.
