Yalameh

Yalameh rugs come from the village of Yalameh near Isfahan in western central Iran, woven by Qashqai semi-nomads settled in the area. Knotted with the asymmetrical (Persian) knot on cotton foundations, they bridge the gap between coarse tribal Gabbehs and refined urban carpets — combining the warmth of tribal colour with notably fine, clear knotting.

Diamonds, hexagons, and lozenge structures dominate the field, rendered in vibrant but harmonious colours — royal blue, deep red, and subtle green. Larger formats often feature three vertical hexagon medallions. The high-quality Qashqai wool produces a resilient, lustrous pile.

Measuring 191 × 67 cm, with an area of 1.28 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship.
