Yalameh

Yalameh rugs come from the village of Yalameh near Isfahan in western central Iran, woven by Qashqai semi-nomads settled in the area. Knotted with the asymmetrical (Persian) knot on cotton foundations, they bridge the gap between coarse tribal Gabbehs and refined urban carpets, combining the warmth of tribal colour with notably fine, clear knotting.

Diamonds, hexagons, and lozenge structures dominate the field, rendered in vibrant but harmonious colours, royal blue, deep red, and subtle green. Larger formats often feature three vertical hexagon medallions. The high-quality Qashqai wool produces a resilient, lustrous pile.

Measuring 191 × 67 cm, with an area of 1.28 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship.
