Kalathe Rugs

Kalathe is a village in the Khorasan weaving region of northeastern Iran. The name "kalathe" itself means "village" or "hamlet" in Persian, and these are precisely that: unpretentious village-workshop rugs that embody the direct, honest craft tradition of the Khorasan countryside.

Kalathe rugs are typically woven with Khorasan aesthetics: medallion compositions, earthy warm palettes, and handspun wool that gives a natural, organic surface quality.
