Kerman

Kerman rugs originate from the city of Kerman in Kerman Province, southeastern Iran — one of the oldest and most prestigious Persian weaving centres. Knotted with the asymmetrical (Persian) knot on a cotton foundation, they are celebrated for their extraordinarily wide design repertoire and the use of soft, luminous Carmania wool prized for its natural sheen and tensile strength.

From central medallions with Shah Abbasi palmettes to garden scenes, vase carpets, tree-of-life compositions, and pictorial landscapes — Kerman represents the painterly end of Persian rug-making. Colour palettes range from traditional deep reds and blues to distinctive pastels with ivory and soft pink grounds.

Measuring 156 × 87 cm, with an area of 1.36 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship. The knot density of 201 000 - 250 000 / m² speaks to the extraordinary care woven into every inch.
