About This Dorokhsh
Dorokhsh rugs come from the small town of Dorokhsh in the hills of South Khorasan Province, eastern Iran, the name means "luster" in Persian, reflecting the subtle surface glow these pieces are known for. Knotted with the asymmetrical (Persian) knot on cotton or wool foundations, they represent the refined end of Khorasan weaving.
All-over boteh (paisley) repeats and tree-of-life compositions are among the most characteristic designs, rendered in understated crimson, beige, and dark blue with secondary tones of pistachio and olive. The refined colour palette and elegant drawing make Dorokhsh pieces exceptionally decorator-friendly.
Measuring 307 × 199 cm, with an area of 6.11 m², crafted from Hand-spun Wool, Hand-knotted, this piece is a testament to masterful craftsmanship. The knot density of 201 000 - 250 000 / m² speaks to the extraordinary care woven into every inch.
Preserved in perfect condition, khorasan sophistication with a calm, polished presence, ideal for elegant, curated interiors.
