Nain

Nain rugs originate from the town of Nain in Isfahan Province, central Iran, near the edge of the Dasht-e Kavir desert. Knotted with the asymmetrical (Persian) knot on a cotton foundation, they are renowned for their refined floral arabesques and the unmistakable ivory-and-blue palette that has become their signature.

Nain pieces use exceptionally fine wool, often highlighted with white silk threads that accentuate the floral details and lend a subtle sheen. Quality is graded by the "La" system — thread count per strand — where lower numbers (4La, 6La) indicate finer knotting and higher density.
